Wasp nest building

Managing wasps in your business

Social wasps build their nests out of wood pulp which they ‘rasp’ from any available source. In your garden this can be fences or wooden benches. The worker wasps then build up layers of wood pulp to form their wasp nest. The video above shows a wasp removing wood from a bench. The video below shows a wasp using the wood pulp to build up the nest structure.

Wasps are useful for controlling insect pests such as aphids although later in the summer they can often become pests. Check Services provide a range of commercial pest control services including offering advice to reduce wasp infestation issues. Recommendations to prevent wasp issues will help minimise the impact of pests infesting your food factory / commercial premises.
